When Blessings Are Curses

A day curled up in bed sounds lovely - so lovely, in fact, that you've wished for fervently for months - until you're forced into it by some nasty hobgoblin of a chest infection, some vile viral force that squeezes your lungs and throat and holds your aching body to the mattress and pillow and forbids you from enjoying for even one millisecond the fact that you are curled up in blankets in the middle of the afternoon and nobody expects you to move. So you end up cursing yourself for ever having wished anything of the sort and laying in a miserable heap, tormenting your sick self with the thought that you would be infinitely happier if you were upright and being shrieked at by children, because that kind of headache can be treated with Ativan and at least then you could enjoy some cookies.

BAH.

(pulls blankets back over head.)

Awwww dang, that sounds terrible! Hope you feel better SOON!! And I also hope you have someone helping w/ the kiddos b/c there is nothing worse than feeling THAT crappy & having to get up and take care of your children anyway (I know, I'm a single mom). Hugs, sleep, chicken soup, and good drugs, etc. for a speedy recovery.

So sorry! It's the boy here who's contracted that bug, and he hasn't gotten off me since I got home from the Spa-a-thon yesterday. I'm as miserable as he is, and right now he's trying to get into my shirt for a nursie. I'm considering tying his hands behind his back.

this is totally not cool. you deserve to enjoy a day in bed because you want to, not because the illness forced you to. ((Hugs))) *with a surgical mask on of course* LOL

Feel better! Whatever that illness is, it's going around. It was in my house for a month! We are finally getting over it!

yeah. you gotta make sure that when you make that wish, it includes "bed and breakfast", and "healthy as a
horse."

There really oughta' be a vaccine that prevents mothers from ever getting sick. EVER. No time for that.
so sorry.

Yeah.. i had the same thing.. just awful. Only I didn't get to curl up alone. I got to suffer through it with a shrieking baby who also had it.

Hope you feel better soon. It took me about a week to feel semi-human.

While you are recuperating, and always:

May your blessings be horses and may you ride,
May your dreams and desires ride along side,
May your worries and troubles fall out behind,
May your blessings be horses and may YOU RIDE!

You are the girl who once stole a horse, are you not? I thought so.

You can beat this and ride again.

All the best wishes.

All along I've thought we were immune to picking up what they bring home, cause you know Mommies can NOT get sick! That's what I get for thinking! Cause apparently I was WRONG and woke up with the same tell tale symptoms you are describing. Crap!

At least you might get some psychodellic dreams from mixing the Ativan & behind the counter cold meds! That's what I'm hoping for anyway! ;)
